Murilo - The Collector
A downloadable game for Windows and Android
This is a “prototype” of a game still in development, which uses a simple Atari game (Freeway) as inspiration and reference. At the moment this idea is still in its initial phase, but we already have this prototype with at least the basic mechanics of the game, if it is released in the future.
--- Narrative ---
The initial idea of the project was to make a simple game where the player could practice different puzzles and different minigames to collect money and resources and thus be able to build his much-desired collection.
--- Character ---
Murilo Grillo is the name given to the character in our game. He is from Pernambuco, born in the city of Recife and has the dream of building his collection at home. But Murilo doesn't have much money and is unemployed at the moment, which is a problem because all the products he would like to have in his collection are expensive. What can Murilo Grillo do now? How will he build his collection?
--- Inspiration ---
As mentioned previously, the initial idea for the game is based on a simple game released for the Atari 2600 in 1981 called Freeway. In Freeway, the player controlled a chicken that needed to cross a highway full of cars and trucks to score points. We decided to use this base idea to shape our project and develop and elaborate new mechanics and new concepts throughout the game, to make the project more original and with many more attributes.
